One routine, forever
Email [email protected] and I’ll get back to you. It helps to say which device and which version of the app.
Frequently asked
- Where does my training data live?
- On your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud. Your history, progression and settings are files in the app’s private storage. Backing up your phone backs them up too; deleting the app deletes them. The details are in the privacy policy.
- Does it work offline?
- Entirely. The app never needs a network connection, which is the point — it has to work in a basement gym with no signal.
- Does it sync between my devices?
- Your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch stay in step during a workout, over Apple’s device-to-device link. There is no sync between two iPhones, because there is no server to sync through. Moving to a new phone carries your history across in your device backup.
- What weights do I start with?
- Whatever you lift today — enter them and the progression picks up from there. Or start everything at zero and let it build. Either way the next session is always ready when you open the app.
- What is the Apple Health permission for?
- Two things: saving your completed workouts to Health, and showing live heart rate and calories during a session when you wear the watch. It’s optional — decline it and everything else still works. You can change your mind any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Compound.
- Where is the watch app?
- It installs alongside the iPhone app. If it isn’t on your watch, open the Watch app on your phone, scroll to Available Apps, and install Compound from there. The watch mirrors the phone during a session, so it needs the phone app to do the thinking.
- I missed a set. Did I break the progression?
- No. Long-press the circle and log what you actually got. There is no penalty — the target simply repeats next session until you hit it.
- How do I manage or refund a purchase?
- Purchases are billed by Apple, so they are managed in your device’s App Store settings. Refunds are handled by Apple directly, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
